The origins of the abbey palace, the Hostellerie Sainte Foix was a prestigious hotel, for the reception of guests passing through Moissac: Pope Urban II and his entourage visited the country in 1063, at the dedication of the altar Saint Saviour in the abbey church.
From the fourteenth century, the building is assigned to multiple functions to meet the needs of the times: a hospital for the sick, welcoming place priors passage and palace residence of the abbot.
Refitted the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, it has a beautiful staircase to reach the upper level.
The medieval garden in front of the abbey house has square gardens, flowers, and cultivated medicinal plants.
In the chapel-tower, detail of fresco of the thirteenth century, recently restored, is one of the most beautiful scenery in the Midi-Pyrénées region. The Abbey Palace now houses temporary exhibitions (see agenda)
