-
Celebrated by theater, literature, cinema gives Georges Passerat the opportunity to recall the links between Ingres and Molière.
-
The painting "Louis XIV and Molière lunching at Versailles" painted by Ingres in 1837, which our speaker will talk about, testifies to Molière's closeness to the Court and the King by divine right Louis XIV.
All that remains of this painting is a sketch kept in the library of the Musée de la Comédie Française. The original work was destroyed in 1871 during the fire at the Palais des Tuileries during the Commune.
