Booksellers' Sunday

Cultural, Festival, Litterature in Montauban
  • Event organized as part of the literary festival Lettres d'Automne.

  • An unmissable event for all lovers of old books, Le Dimanche des bouquinistes was created by Roselyne Layan of the Montalbanian bookstore La Soupe aux Livres. Each year, it brings together around fifteen booksellers from the greater South-West who offer second-hand books and old books to enlightened amateurs, future amateurs or strollers. Professions associated with the book are also represented and we can find publishers but also the books of the guests of Lettres d'automne.

Books off the beaten track, with La Mémo patrimoine

Art is everywhere in books. But when, in the 1960s, artists invest the book, they use it as a support, as a playground or as a concept... thus renewing the approach to art but also the expression of a story.
The paintings respond to the texts, the form of the book participates in the story or the book itself, as an object, gives meaning to a story. Come and discover in this exhibition some examples of these graphic, artistic or literary essays from the funds of the heritage library.

The Words of the Look, with Charles de Rodat

Painter, sculptor and writer, Charles de Rodat presents his latest work published by the Tarn editions Fractions. Photographic reproduction of the seventeen portraits of authors painted by the artist over the past thirty years, Les Mots du regard invites the reader to meet famous writers of the 20th century from Jocelyne François to François Mauriac via Pasternak , Faulkner or Kawabata.

    Aperitif offered at 11:30 a.m.
Snack bar and snacks on site.
