The tour connecting contemporary music venues, artists, and audiences in Occitanie, from January to April 2026

The contemporary music venues (SMACs) of Occitanie are joining forces to create SMAConnexion, a series of entirely free concerts that showcase both the venues across the region and the artists they support. Through three mini-tours of three dates each, SMAConnexion offers a musical journey that invites audiences to discover the richness, diversity, and essential role of SMACs in the regional cultural ecosystem.

A collective initiative across the region
SMAConnexion brings together ten venues of varying sizes and locations, all sharing the same goal: to promote contemporary music, support local artists, and open their doors as widely as possible to all audiences. By creating this tour, they collectively affirm that culture is stronger when it circulates and is shared.

Contemporary Music Venues: Supporting, Accompanying, and Promoting SMACs are much more than just concert halls. Designated by the Ministry of Culture, they serve as venues for performance, artistic support, rehearsals, training, experimentation, and cultural outreach. They support emerging artists, encourage musical diversity, guarantee accessibility, and contribute to the vitality of their communities.

Pop, rock, rap, chanson…
Contemporary music encompasses a broad artistic spectrum, from rock to rap, from electronic to pop, including folk and hybrid genres. This diversity is fully reflected in SMAConnexion: each tour brings together three artists with very different styles, demonstrating how these aesthetics coexist, intersect, and constantly reinvent themselves.

GENRE GENRE
dream folk
(34 – supported by Smac Victoire 2 – Montpellier)
After Les Paper Boat Sailors (album “Loners at Sea”, 34 Tours, Sosh aime les InrockLab…), Eli Pujol and Kim Nguyen reunited to create the GENRE GENRE project (2022), born from their exploration of identity and genre.

Through GENRE GENRE, Eli and Kim explore a new musical style, a new way of approaching the stage, and open their project to boundless creativity. From live concerts to performance art, and even music for film and television, GENRE GENRE aims to leave its mark across the entire artistic landscape.

B.Ä.M.

Electro Tribal Groove
(82 – supported by SMAC Le Rio Grande)
B.Ä.M. (Body Änd Music) is a live energy where drums, vocals, and dance collide. A prepared acoustic drum kit, samplers, and synthesizers make up the duo's instrumentation, inspiring a vibrant youth to share their raw expression of life. A unique, hypnotic, and boisterous universe.

LA FAILLE
Rap'n Rock
(46 – supported by SMAC Les Docks – Cahors)
LA FAILLE shakes things up with a bold fusion of rap and rock. Sharp guitars and a driving rhythm section provide the backdrop for rapper Singa's dark and visceral lyrics, exploring profound social issues. With raw energy and striking stage performances, La Faille paints a portrait of a world that is both ruthless and captivating, awakening fans of Rage Against The Machine, Casey and La Canaille.
