Jean-Christophe Humbert – Born in Rome in 1960, he lives and works in Yonne.

His parents, Jacqueline and Raymond Humbert, are artists, collectors of popular art, and creators of the Laduz museum. He drew and painted naturally from his childhood.
After his training at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he settled in the mid-1980s in the “Frigos”, a former SNCF wasteland at Quai de la Gare in the 13th arrondissement. A place where visual artists, alternative rock musicians, choreographers, actors live in a very lively and enriching underground atmosphere. Then at the beginning of the 90s it was the return to the countryside to find space, calm and recharge one's batteries.
His work evolves with the integration of natural elements, the frame is abandoned for the manufacture of singular supports, the use of pigments, sand, nails, string, bones...
And this inhabited world, at the crossroads of several paths, is full of memories of his childhood: dictionary pages on plants, animal skeletons, insects, fossils...
The human body becomes an interior landscape with its arteries, its crossroads, its bushy paths. A fanciful cartography where stomach, epithelium, spine, enkephalos, medusa spinalis, capillaries intersect.
He builds a parallel world where what he learned from his parents, from his time at the Beaux-Arts, from the curiosity of non-Cartesian peoples, where the mind is not separated from the body, where art makes one whole with the human.
