For the 3rd consecutive year, Montauban is hosting one of its most anticipated events: the Festival des Lucioles. This celebration of light and architecture transforms the city's historic streets into an artistic playground where creativity reigns supreme.
The Festival des Lucioles was born in 2022. Having become a must in the city of Ingres, it returns in 2024. Each year, the festival evolves, integrating new forms of artistic expression. What remains constant is the vibrant atmosphere and commitment to the celebration of art in all its forms.
In Montauban, when the fireflies dance, the entire city lights up with an artistic and festive glow.

The Festival des Lucioles offers a rich and diverse program that attracts a wide audience. From artistic performances to highlights, there is something for all tastes and for all ages. The streets of Montauban are transformed into open-air art galleries where visitors can wander freely and discover astonishing artistic installations. Interactive activities also allow the public to become actively involved in artistic creation.
With “water and light” as a common thread, Montauban lights up for 15 days through light shows on the facades of emblematic buildings but also sound mappings on the facades of the Cathedral or the hall on Place Lalaque , highlighted through a creation with Art Deco accents.
You will find for example: duckweed on the banks of the Tarn, a sound and interactive urban installation featuring visitors, mapping and sound and light, on the facades of the cathedral on Place Roosevelt and the station hall road, Place Lalaque, interactive and participatory mapping carried out by the public, at the Old College and the traditional dynamic lighting of the City's emblematic buildings: Natural History Museum, Ingres Bourdelle Museum, Old Bridge...
