  • From lock to lock, the Canal de Garonne, an extension of the Canal du Midi towards the Atlantic, is the work of Jean-Baptiste de Baudre and was completed in 1856.

  • The Canal du Midi and Canal de Garonne together form part of the Grands Sites Occitanie network.
    The canal towpath has been converted into a greenway, allowing cyclists to travel from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean.
