Le repas des fauves at the Théâtre de l'Embellie

1942, in occupied France, seven friends meet to celebrate their host's birthday. The evening takes place under the best auspices, until two German officers are shot dead at the foot of their building.
In retaliation, the Gestapo asked the guests to designate two of themselves as hostages. Cowardice, sycophancy, flattery, complicity, baseness and mediocrity, everything is good to avoid the worst.
The SS officer handles subversive cynicism with undisguised pleasure and monstrous audacity. Saving one's skin at any cost by trampling on the rules of friendship, love and resorting to all indignities: such is the canvas of this edifying closed session, marked by cruelty but also humor.
