The lake of Gouyre, located on the communes of Vaissac and Puygaillard de Quercy, was formed with the construction in 1989 by the General Council of Tarn and Garonne of a dam on the Gouyre, small tributary of the Aveyron.

It is of major ecological interest, particularly for the avifauna of the region. Sensitive Natural Area since 1992, it has already benefited from facilities such as rafts, observatory, marked footpath. It has been protected by a Prefectural Biotope Protection Order (APPB) since 1994. Free access all year round.
