Eight artists present their illuminated manuscripts in the cloister. All have spent hundreds of hours bending over sheets of parchment to create these exceptional works.
Trained in Angers at the Institut Supérieur Européen d'Enluminure et du Manuscrit, the last school in France to transmit this know-how, they will share with you their passion and the secrets of their art.
Each has chosen to explore a particular style: Merovingian, Carolingian, Romanesque or Gothic illumination. All have spent hundreds of hours bending over sheets of parchment to create these exceptional works.
