Description

Sports association. Learn to row in Montauban.
In 1905, the Montauban Nautical Club, the city's first rowing club, was founded. A few years later, in 1927, the Montauban Rowing Club established itself on the banks of the Tarn River. In 1930, a flood devastated the region. Adolph Poult carried out several rescues, saving the lives of many people. However, it was during this heroic act that he lost his life. In his honor, the current club displays his canoe and bust in its premises, and the boathouse is named after him. In 1966, the official announcement of the merger of the two clubs was made, giving the name Union Nautique Montalbanaise. This union allowed many rowers to gain experience at the highest level. The club has won several national medals, including two gold medals in 1974 and 1975. The most recent medal is a silver, won in 2010 at the senior championships. Since 2021, the club has returned to the national and international podiums with Louis Descot Vigouroux, U18 European Vice-Champion with the French team. He is also the French Indoor Champion in both short boats. In 2024, Vincent Renon became the French PR3 Mixed Short Boat Champion. He was very proud to bring a pennant back to the club. In 2025, Loris Cluzel was added to the list of National High-Level Athletes in the "espoir" (hopeful) category. The adventure continues, come and experience it with us!
