A pale clown wakes up in a dusty room. This clown is Peter Pan. Except... he’s 45 years old. Where has Wendy gone? Could she be dead? Impossible, since he left her only a few hours ago to go see the mermaids. He had asked her to wait for him there so she could tell him a story before he went to sleep. Or perhaps he didn’t notice time passing—his life slipping away. He hasn’t seen himself grow old because he is Peter Pan. There’s only one solution: to flee to Neverland, the imaginary place where anything is possible—unless it’s just another artificial paradise. With great talent, Matthieu Poulet offers us an excellent Clown Pan, gently mad and a quick-change artist in his spare time!
Taking on all the roles, the quick-change artist—without a red nose—makes us laugh, along with him, at ourselves. More than ever prey to that famous Peter Pan syndrome, many of us will surely identify with the fable. Cathartic. (Marie-Emmanuelle Dulous de Méritens - La Terrasse)
“The Cie l’Heure Avant l’Aube has taken on this work to adapt a magnificent show centered on the clown. Shuffling the cards of the Peter Pan myth, Matthieu Poulet offers us a true gift by exploring this timeless work in a different light.” (Laurent Schteiner – Sur les Planches)
