PARENTHÈSE is the solo project of Djul, vocalist and lyricist of the KKC Orchestra. Here, he goes it alone. A rap rooted in its time, somewhere between boom bap and trap, where the lyrics take their time to speak. No posturing, no overacting. Just lyrics that open up, words that tell a story, a sincere "I" that seeks to connect with others.
Assisted reproductive technology (ART), inspiring female role models, baldness, or the importance of self-love to better love others—these are just some of the themes that have inspired him recently. On the program: a microphone, a turntable, and French rap. Flow, connection, experience, and a strong desire for the stage, for an audience, for sharing. Creating a parenthesis within this parenthesis!
